Virtual Production using Motion Capture

I got the opportunity to learn how to work with Motion capture, and how to use it in a Virtual Production workflow. So created this little short with my new knowledge in UE5.

Started out by recording in a mocap studio, took the data and cleaned it up in Qualisys Track Manager (QTM), then brought it in to Motionbuilder to assign characters and do further cleanup and animation. I also tried out the ragdoll physics in Motionbuilder and found it to be very fun to play around with. Finally brought it in to UE5, put together a scene and got my virtual camera to work correctly.

This was a challenge and it's far from perfect, but it was also a lot of fun, so I will definitely return to mocap to explore it further. Hope you like it!
