Bear Totem - Brother Bear

After not having sculpted anything in Zbrush for many years I finally got back into it. This time I sculpted the magical Bear Totem from the movie "Brother Bear".

I started out in Maya, making base shapes to work from in Zbrush. After sculpting I moved on to texturing in Substance Painter. I baked the higpoly mesh from Zbrush onto my normalmap to reduce the poly count. I went for a stylized look for my textures, trying to make all the edges pop. I wanted it to really feel like somone's been holding this totem in his hand for many years, making the edges smooth and worn down over time. Make it feel used and weathered. I'm super happy with the texture for the bear, and it's actually a very simple setup.

I also took the oportunity to try out the Niagara system in Unreal Engine for the first time. Making the token look even more magical.

Overall, a small little project that I'm quite happy with. Hope you like it!
